LASIK Forte (with CXL)

Collagen Crosslinking is a technology that allows firming of the corneal tissue. Dr. Gulani describes this as turning cellophane paper to plastic, so you can imagine it becoming firmer and stronger in strenght. Crosslinking involves using specially formulated riboflavin (Vitamin B-12) drops along with a special pulsed UV (ultra-violet) light technology that bonds the collagen of the cornea to strengthen and make it more firm.

PTK

PTK (Phototherapeutic Keratectomy) is a laser based surgical procedure which is mainly used to treat scars on the cornea or other types of corneal surface diseases (such as corneal dystrophy and epithelial erosion syndrome). By combining the precision of an excimer laser with the control of a computer, surgeons can vaporize microscopically thin layers of diseased corneal tissue and etch away the surface irregularities associated with many corneal dystrophies and scars.

Topography Guided Laser

Since the curvature or shape of your cornea (front clear window of your eye) decides, in most cases, whether you are nearsighted (steep curvature), farsighted (flat curvature) or have astigmatism (football shape as opposed to a basketball shape), corneal Topography is helpful in planning Laser Refractive Surgery of all kinds.

Wavefront Optimized Laser

There are many varieties of Lasik procedures used to correct vision problems such as farsightedness, nearsightedness, and astigmatism.

In wavefront-optimized laser procedures the curvature of the cornea is taken into account when applying the laser to the surface of the eye. This means that the peripheral of the eye has an increased number of laser pulses to reduce the induction of abnormalities.
