Prior to surgery, my eye impairrments included presbyopia, nearsightedness, and a very high Astigmatism. Earning my Doctorate degree required hours upon hours of study, reading and visual requirements during lecture/clinical experience. Not only was the coursework rigorous, but the inability to see was an added challenge. My career was an added challenge with patient interaction.

As a physical therapist, it’s imperative to see your patient’s facial expressions, structural impairments/inconsistencies, etc., which was difficult without vision!!
