Dr. Rachel Beckett

I have had issues with my vision since I was about 10. I have had to wear corrective lenses for near sightedness since then. I started in glass and then moved to contacts when I was 16. When I reached my middle forties, my near (reading) vision began to go. I added reading glasses to my distant corrective contact lenses. Several years ago, I switched to multifocal contact lenses. They worked well for about 18 months. I then began having issues with my near vision again and in wearing the contacts for extended period of time. I do not like wearing glasses all the time. I do not see well with them even with a new prescription and being progressive lenses. Distance was not great and near was poor. I could not thread a sewing needle. Without correction, I could not see the TV, watch movies or see football games. Professionally, I need all distances of vision. I examine animals, perform surgeries, work on the computer and write medical records.

 

Dr. Stephanie Crabb, my associate, decided about 4 - 5 years ago to research Lasik and other procedures for correcting her vision. She found Dr. Gulani and was impressed by his credentials. She has done extremely well with her surgery. When I was getting extremely frustrated with my eye care and ability to see, I decided to give Dr. Gulani a shot.

 

The staff at GVI has been friendly, nice, well educated and professional. Although, I waited in various rooms at times, the staff was always checking in ensuring I was okay, that I didn't need something and that I knew I was not forgotten.

 

The exam was very thorough. The explanation of my condition and treatment was a TEN. All questions and concerns were addressed and explained honestly and completely.

 

The procedure, while a little frightening, went quickly and efficiently. The staff in the surgery suite were very proficient but were caring.

 

I made several post op phone calls which were handled quickly and professionally. None of my concerns were handled lightly and I never felt I was a bother or asking stupid questions. I was very impressed that most of the time, Dr. Gulani, himself, called me back.

 

Dr. Gulani is a professional and an expert in his field. While working on a rapid paced schedule, you still feel he takes time to answer all your questions and makes sure you understand.

 

He performed my Advanced Laser ASA surgery and my Distance Vision is great. Driving, watching movies etc, without correction, is very nice.I fully understand that we were going for distance and that I might need reading glasses for near.

 

 

I shall certainly refer my Doctor friends and family to Dr. Gulani and I have.
