Last year, my vision had worsened to where I was wearing both contacts and reading glasses to work on the computer or to read material, so I asked my Optometric Physician (eye doctor) for corrective vision contacts to help eliminate the use of both. My eyes are very sensitive to allergens and the contacts were never very comfortable. I was always aware that I had contacts in my eyes, as they would dry out or produce floaters or cloudiness. Even with the newer prescription to create a balance in vision, it did not help with my vision problem, and in fact, my eyes began to react by becoming intolerant to wearing contacts.
I had wanted LASIK surgery for years, and when I came to this point with my vision and eye sensitive, I asked my Optometric Physician to recommend an ophthalmologist for corrective vision surgery, and he highly recommended Dr. Gulani.
As for my experience at Gulani Vision Institute, from my first appointment through all the follow-up visits, all if them were prompt and focused on me as a client. I've always received excellent service and attention to meet my needs and concerns.
Dr Gulani is not only a highly trained professional in his field, but is also compassionate about his work to share with his clients and others in the profession. I was severely myopic (near sighted) and completely dependent on my glasses and contacts. This was especially a problem as an army officer. My eyes were irritated with contacts and glasses lead to a fear of losing/breaking them during a conflict.

My vision was bad enough to need constant correction with contacts of glasses function.
My regular eye doctor recommended Dr. Gulani because he was cutting edge. I was ready to be free from the restrictions of glasses.

A special note: On mother's day, only about 3 weeks post surgery, my 4 year old son accidentally punched me in my open eye. It was very direct hit, and very painful. With a little rest and drops it was completely fine, but Dr. Gulani still offered to meet me at his office on Sunday, to make sure I was confident. I can't believe my eye could take such a hit so soon after surgery and recover so quickly. This procedure is truly amazing.

I heard of Dr. Gulani from my eye doctor due to the complexity of my situation, Dr. Gulani's ability, and the fact that he came highly recommended. After meeting Dr Gulani and then going to a couple of other doctors my choice was clear.
In some of the other offices, I never even met the doctor. Dr Gulani had no problem taking the time to explain and answer any and all questions I had on several occasions. I even went to doctors on Orlando thinking I would maybe get a better quality doctor in a bigger city. I was willing to travel if I was going to get better end results. Most of the other doctors only offered two different kinds of surgery. They then fit you into the type of surgery that they did. Then if you wanted "custom" or "HD" the other doctors wanted to charge you more. Everyone's eyes are different, so would all surgeries not be custom to your eyes?
Dr. Gulani on the other hand knows how to do more then thirty different kinds of procedures (To remove glasses and contact lenses) and therefore I really felt that he would truly be doing what was best for me and my eyes to give me the best possible out come. I did not want to be part of a cookie cutter program, and wanted a more personalized experience. No other doctor was willing to give me his personal cell phone number to call him should I have any problems. If nothing else it gave you piece of mind.
My experience at Gulani Vision Institute was Wonderful! I even liked the fact that I was able to watch him do the same surgery he just did on me to someone else. It was really cool to seeing things from a different perspective when it was not your eye under the microscope.

When asked why I chose Dr. Gulani to perform the Lasik procedure on me, my answer is “I saw first hand what “Lasik deals” really means for accuracy. My uncle decided to shop around for Lasik deals and found a center out of Atlanta offering $599 per eye, he took the bait. After the procedure he told me that his vision was 20/80 in one eye, and even worse in the other. He said that his eyes burned and itched, and said it felt like he had sand in his eyes. My vision problems included problems with distance and reading of small print. I had glasses for driving as well as reading. My passion is golf and my vision problems were very inconvenient on the course. Having to wear glasses while playing golf was a real headache. I heard about Dr. Gulani from a business associate who had Lasik surgery with him and went for an evaluation. I was very impressed with Dr. Gulani's manner and expertise. He diagnosed my problems right away and came up with a plan to correct them. I felt very comfortable and at ease with Dr. Gulani who answered all my questions and explained the procedure, recovery issues and results, I could expect in simple terms I could understand. I had my surgery on a Wednesday. It was over in 20 minutes and I was on my way home. I can’t help but get emotional when I speak of Dr. Gulani.
I had previously been to numerous noted surgeons and was told that due to the severity of my eye problems, it was just too risky to perform Lasik on my eyes. I would have to except being legally blind in both eyes with severe astigmatism and double vision.
As each year came and went by my frustration grew not only because my eyesight worsened but because I became increasingly vulnerable. Without my glasses, I was helpless. I never was without both a spare pair of regular glasses and sunglasses. At the cost of $600 a pair, replacing them was a real hardship.
After consulting with Dr. Gulani I felt in my heart that I had found not only someone I could trust but a man who possessed both the passion and talent to help me. My trust was not misplaced. I am now seeing 20/20, without the double vision, thanks to his unbelievable gift of healing.
