Poor vision is so disabling. My concerns were high as to driving my automobile. Not being able to see well endangers you, for example, falling or tripping over things.
First, I read in daily paper about Dr. Gulani. Then, I talked with my friend Dr. Lavern Kline and decided this was where I wanted to go-Gulani Vision Institute.

I am 69 years old and in generally excellent health. However, I worecontacts all the time. I was veryfarsighted.
My vision had deteriorated over a period of years so that I had to put on glasses to see the clock in the middle of the night! The shape of my eyes were such that only one brand of contacts fit and that brand did not make contacts in a high enough power. So I had come to the point of wearing contacts AND glasses to read.
The prescription for my regular glasses resembled Coke bottle bottoms and were very unbecoming so I only used them for putting on contacts.

Without glasses I was practically functional blind. I had cataracts. For example I had to have the shampoo, soap and shaving cream in a specific place in the shower otherwise I could not find them. Even with glasses I struggled to see at distance.

I didn’t realize how bad my vision was before my visit to Dr. Gulani. I was legally blind at night and didn’t know it. Up to my visit I had regular yearly check – ups with a new lens prescription almost yearly. I was aware of my cataracts slowly developing but had no clue of the impact they had on my vision. Although my vision was perhaps forty percent diminished, the most troublesome aspect of my practical vision was astigmatism and multi-colored, large halos due to cataracts.
My eye doctor was aware of Dr. Gulani’s expertise and spoke very well of Dr. Gulani. Even my specialist eye surgeon at Mayo clinic stated that Dr. Gulani was an ideal choice as the one with advanced techniques.

I was recommended to see Dr.Gulani by my eye doctor who herself had her Lasik surgery with him.

A friend of my wife’s had recommended to come to Gulani Vision Institute. While here I asked about whether I was a candidate for Vision Corrective eye surgery, because I had always been told “No”.
At Gulani Vision Institue, I I have had a very good experience. Everyone was very courteous, they made me feel self assured.
As for Dr. Gulani, I think he is a gift from God. A wonderful person that loves what he does and it shows.
I feel 100% turned around. It’s nice to be able to do things without glasses or fumbling around with contacts. No one would understand this unless they had worn glasses for most of their life.
He is at the top of his game. I am not a person that likes hospitals, but I would gladly go through this procedure again. He has a hunger for knowledge and passes it on to his patients and makes you fell self assured.
