Cataract with Corneal Scar

My vision was very bad and getting worse; fuzziness.

I head of Dr. Gulani through numerous News Interviews in Newspaper/ TV. Another well known Lasik surgeon said “he wouldn’t touch me.”

Dr. Gulani performed Advanced Laser Vision Surgery on me and I saw so well. I wouldn’t go to anyone else and would recommend him to all.

 Recenlty I also had my cataract surgery and I am doing so well.

 Vision is greatly improved, enjoying confidence in driving and work related activities; distance vision much better.

I believe there is None better than Dr. Gulani and I shall absolutely refer friends and family to him.

 My right eye was extremely Myopic(20/400 vision) and left eye had Astigmatism plus scar tissue. Cataracts in both eyes and left eye cataract had exfoliated making surgery even more difficult. Corrected vision with contact lenses was still poor making night driving in strange areas scary at best. My visual world was terribly restricted and I was missing lots of things because I could not see well. Bad eyesight can slow you down terribly. For example, a month ago I would have needed to wear corrective lenses just to see my computer screen.

I needed cataract surgery and my optometrist, Dr. Jeffrey Shearer, referred me to Dr. Gulani.  I had trusted my eyes to Dr. Shearer for over 20 years and his recommendation was good enough for me.

From start to finish everything was comfortable and professional. Gulani Vision Institute offices and staff are “State of the Art” and leave nothing to be desired in patient care.

I genuinely like Dr. Gulani as a physician and more so as a caring person with a great passion for his work.. His clear and patient explanation of each procedure along with a caring manner combined to instill my complete trust in his ability to diagnose and care for all of my vision problems. He is also a man of many talents and I feel that it would be interesting to just sit and chat with him.

I really had no idea what I was missing. My eyesight was never great and over the years it had deteriorated. Suddenly I am seeing better than I ever have! It’s like walking around in a fog for years then stepping out into a clear day. Until it happens to you there is no way to explain how much more confident in yourself and better life is with good eyesight.

How he planned with Cataract and Lasik surgery combination to take care of my cataracts, corneal scars , astigmatism and vision has been amazing.

Surgically Dr. Gulani is amazing as my eyes were a real challenge and probably other eye surgeons would not have attempted what he accomplished. He explains his procedures to me very clearly and I could tell that he really cared about my vision and about me as a person.

As far as I am concerned Dr. Gulani is the best in his field and I certainly would urge anybody to come from anywhere to GVI. Actually, I just gave one of his cards to my hairdresser’s husband, today.

 Cataract with Fuchs Dystrophy 

 

 I have Fuchs disease of my cornea (fuchsfriends.com). My vision had progressively gotten worse over the past 12 to 20 months. I had lost most vision in my left eye and my career as Code Enforcement Officer was on the line. I had a lot of trouble with driving especially in low light conditions.

I also had cataracts and Astigmatism in my eyes.

 

My eye doctor in Gainesville, knew of Dr. Gulani’sadvanced surgeries and sent me to see him.

Dr. Gulani took the time to explain everything from my disease and problems, to the procedure I would be going through. He then made sure I understoodeverything. He never pressured me for a decision. I felt more like a friend than a patient.

 

He is a wonderful Doctor as well as a wonderful person. His bedside manner when dealing with me made me very comfortable and calm.

He performed a special Lens implant surgery (Toric IOL) to correct my cataracts as well as my astigmatism. The surgery gave me back my career and life. I am able to see things again that I feared I had lost.

I have my life back and it is continuing to get better each day.

 

I believe his skills as a surgeon are impeccable. He seems to be ahead of our time in his field. He is also the only doctor who has every personally called me during my recovery at home. Most doctors have one of their staff make the call, but not Dr. Gulani. That was a nice personal touch from him.

 

I have already referred a co-worker who also suffers from Fuchs disease and is having a very difficult time. I reassured her that there is help for her at Gulani Vision Institute.

I had a corneal transplant with another eye surgeon and my vision was extremely poor. Being in law enforcement , this was a hindrance to my performance.
